The magical Winter Weeks in Bergen op Zoom are a celebration of the wonderful atmosphere that December brings. With enchanting lighting that illuminates the entire city, a beautiful ice rink on our own Great Market Square – the largest in southern Netherlands – and the only city palace in the Netherlands, 'the Markiezenhof', completely enveloped in Christmas decorations, this event has grown into a true gem.
Annually, festively decorated houses are distributed throughout the city, where in addition to local products, plenty of seasonal products are also offered. During all the shopping weekends in December, after Saint Nicholas Day of course, these Christmas houses will be staffed and open, and entertainment and fun will be available everywhere in the city center.
There are even whispers that Santa Claus will also visit our city with his sleigh. Our beautiful historic city center will, as it were, undergo a magical transformation into winterlike atmospheres that, if the weather cooperates, will undoubtedly evoke the atmosphere of Dickens.
